Chipmatic is a compact blend of mining, automation, incremental progression, and exploration that turns the simple act of digging downward into a steadily expanding technological adventure. Developed by Molter and published by Molter and SpaceJazz, it places you in control of a mining robot exploring the underground remains of a devastated Earth. The ultimate objective is to reach the planet's core, but accomplishing that requires considerably more than simply drilling in a straight line. Resources must be collected, machinery constructed, energy managed, technology researched, and the robot itself improved before the deepest areas become realistically accessible. The early progression establishes a satisfying relationship between exploration and resource management. Venturing underground produces essential materials such as coal and iron, but every expedition also forces you to consider the limitations of your equipment. Fuel and energy are particularly important at the beginning, creating a practical reason to return to the factory rather than endlessly exploring. This gives mining a stronger sense of purpose because each trip is effectively an investment in future capabilities. Materials gathered during one expedition can make the next journey longer, faster, or more productive. Factory development is where the experience begins opening up. Resources can be processed through multiple stages, with ores becoming ingots and those materials eventually contributing to more advanced products and machinery. The real satisfaction comes from gradually automating these jobs. Activities that initially require direct attention can eventually be handled by machines, allowing you to concentrate on exploration, expansion, and research instead. Watching a collection of basic equipment evolve into an increasingly self-sufficient industrial operation provides the kind of constant improvement that makes incremental games difficult to put down. Power generation adds another consideration to expansion. Coal serves as an important early resource, but technological development eventually provides additional ways to maintain the growing operation, including solar energy. This creates a pleasant sense of industrial evolution. Instead of simply producing larger quantities of the same items forever, you gradually replace inefficient solutions with better ones. Building a laboratory further strengthens this progression by providing access to research and technologies capable of improving both production and exploration. The mining robot receives meaningful improvements as well. Battery upgrades increase operational flexibility, drill enhancements make excavation more effective, and jet pack improvements contribute to mobility. These upgrades are particularly rewarding because their benefits can be experienced directly rather than merely represented through larger production numbers. Areas that once felt inconvenient or difficult become easier to navigate, while resource gathering becomes progressively more efficient. The combination of personal upgrades and factory improvements creates two complementary forms of advancement. Exploration also serves a narrative function. Earth is no longer the thriving home of humanity, and discovering what happened to its former inhabitants becomes part of the motivation for traveling deeper underground. Blueprints, remnants of lost technology, and environmental discoveries provide additional incentives beyond collecting minerals. The mystery gives context to the industrial gameplay and helps prevent the experience from becoming nothing more than an optimization exercise. Every descent potentially contributes both practical resources and another piece of information about the ruined world. Visually, the colorful 2D pixel-art presentation suits the smaller scale of the adventure. The mechanical protagonist, machinery, resources, and underground environments remain easy to distinguish, while the contrast betwee…
Give this one a pass. It's pretty poorly balanced, and the automation in the game is largely a joke. I bought it while on sale and I'd refund the game if I could.
THE GAME IS 99% IS GOOD BUT THERE ONE THING MAKE THE EXPERIENCE HORRIBL WITCH IS THE NEAR THE END THE THING YOU NEED TO UPGRADE A LOOT AND TAKE A LONG TIME TO DO AND ABOVE ALL THAT THE ENERGY DRAIN SO QUICKLY MAKE ME CANT DO ANY CRAFT OR UPGRADE......IF THERE A UPDATE IS THE FUTURE MAKE THE ENERGY MORE THAT WILL BE PERFECT TO FINISH THE GAME OTHER THEN THAT I CANT CONTINUE ANYMORE
