Bug & Seek

The whole point of a collectathon game is getting a collection... but there are multiple issues with the achievements and there are categories that are impossible to complete without DLC. The only comments by the devs are about their crypto stuff and not about fixing the game. I enjoyed it a lot at first but then ended up sitting on a few remaining collectables and achievements that were mislabeled or not available. For example, it would say that a bug was available in leaf piles in the wetlands in spring - except that leaf piles don't spawn in that biome in that season.

Genuinely surprised by the variety of bugs (spiders and worms included) that are present in this game and I just got back from a semester of learning an Entomology course in my uni! Prior to playing this game, I got the chance to see some of the real-life bugs in this game in the wild before so imagine my surprise of seeing a certain mantis or cockroach that I was familiar with :) It's like seeing a known acquaintance. The game is also good of introducing lesser known species so I approve this game of being a learning tool for the aspiring entomologist. There were some janky bugs (no pun intended) but I'm the type of guy to nerd over small things so much so that it outweighs the negatives.

it's very "my first unity2D game" but as a fan of insects it's still a cute little game to play. i'm not quite sure it's worth the $15 price tag given the lack of polish but if you can find it on sale or you're a bug nerd definitely pick it up.
