Беспонтовый клон Mega Man ZX.
BerserkBoy is a MegaMan-style game about an ec-static boy and his flammable bird. Beat it, collected all the soldiers/metals, got all the upgrades, and played all the Ex levels in 12.4 hours using a game controller. Got all but two achievements. Difficulty is easy-medium. I got this as part of a humble bundle. Gameplay/Controls - The gameplay is pretty solid. Most of the time it's: 'one button jumps, one button attacks, another button does a special move, and R shoulder button does 'berserk' special move. And controls can change up a little per 'power', leading you to have to learn each one and what it can do. The Yellow one's random L button 'big jump' move threw me a lot because I couldn't get it work half the time. There's also a diagonal down/jump upgrade move later in I never figured out. But none of that stopped me from playing all the way through. There are some areas/doors/perches per level that are reserved for specific powers, leading you to go back to replay stuff at your leisure to find everything. Once in a while there are some flying pewpewpew levels. Baddies/Bosses/Levels: There's only a little variety in terms of monsters, with maybe two or three new ones introduced for later levels. Most of the monsters you see in the beginning you'll see in the end. But none of this bothered me because BerserkBoy is short. The bosses are all different enough to tell apart and have good variety. Each area is different enough to easily tell apart, and there are three levels per area. Extra stuff: If you collect all the medals (or was it find all the missing peeps?), you can unlock bonus Ex levels, which are timed short sprints you can optionally survive through for fun. If you don't look for this stuff, expect the game to be a lot shorter. Maybe 5-6 hours long. Bugs: I had a hard time starting up the game. It would start up in full screen, then back out of full screen into 1/4th of this tiny window. It happened a lot. The only solution was to close the window and restart the game a few times. I think clicking the controller button once it's in full screen kept it from reverting, but clicking mouse did nothing, Alt-Enter did nothing. Closing all other windows on my desktop didn't help. And I couldn't see the game to close it normally. There was a bug with BerserkBoy slowing to a 5 frames per second slog at random. The game didn't crash on me, but I was able to wait it out until it worked normally again. This happened at random in the first half and stopped after some point. Usually once-per-play. Once during a later Ex level, I was in ninja-suit and tried to jump up to grab something, but the game crammed me into a forbidden pixel next to a ledge and wouldn't free me. I got injured at random and hoped it would off me so I could continue, but it stopped injuring me at some point and I had to abort the round and restart the level. Music: I liked it. Very upbeat. Achievements: Doable in one playthrough. The 'getting a good grade per level' part was a little too much for me, but would still be doable with more effort/time. *** Epilepsy Warning: I wouldn't. The worst is this one turtle boss you'll come across more than once with a flickering doom cannon that's especially bad. In summary: I liked BerserkBoy enough to collect all the stuff. Gameplay is pretty good, hits both on the monsters and on you have a solid purchase to them, it took me a while to master all the different powers, and all the voices are nice alongside the music. Outside of that bug I encountered while trying to open the game repeatedly, once the game got going it was an over-all enjoyable experience. There's a full game to be had here with lots of little things to collect and race. That said, I did kind of wish the sister/friend had more of a part, and the blaring WARNING every time you started a level got weirdly old fast. But those are minor gripes. I had fun. :D
