BAZOOKA: Rhythm Game

Even though it's not my type of music, these are absolute bangers, not to mention the arrow rhythm gameplay is very fun to learn.

It is a very beautiful Rythm game from one of the if not the most beloved rap band from Romania one and only Bazooka...if you like rythm games and you master them this could be easy for you or not ...but even if you new to these kind of games ..is still worth to try to hear the Fabulous rapper Codrin sing and his friend Echo..

Looking at other reviews I think this is the second slightly in-depth English review, but I stumbled on this game when looking for rhythm games on Steam and saw it had good reviews, so I bought it. One line summary of my rambling below this point: A surprisingly competent and fun DDR clone, that seems like an extremely high quality joke by the band. Anyway, the game is shockingly good! It seems to have taken the rules from Flash Flash Revolution with jump notes being able to be hit as separate notes and hitting blank spaces in songs giving negative score. Unlike FFR this game has freeze notes, but in probably my least favorite way, the release also counts as a note. Meaning you can drop combos by not letting go on time. Aside from that it's a pretty standard DDR clone type of game. There's a few quality of life features missing that other games, like FFR, have that would be nice to add. Things like a restart for songs in the options menu (or even a hotkey for it.), a song length tracker somewhere on-screen while playing a song, and timing grading pop-ups. As for the music, I don't have any real strong opinions about it. It's not bad, but I haven't found any songs yet that I feel like I'd want to add to my personal playlist. That being said, on Canon difficulty the notecharts are really well done. The person who charted these songs has definitely charted a bunch of songs prior to this, and it shows in just how good these charts are. I'm sure if I sit down and comb through the charts I could find tons of minor nitpicks, but right now the only ones I can think of is the prevalence of Hands (Jumps with more than 2 notes.) and that chart difficulty doesn't ramp as you play through a playlist (Each song is roughly as hard as the last on, at least in the 1st playlist.). We'll see if Hell difficulty changes my mind on this, but as of right now I'm actually having fun with the game. For other things that add to the insane levels of quality for something that seems like it was made as a joke: It has a native Linux build, which I've managed to run without any issues so far. The small bit of text that needed to be translated into English is done extremely well. They also keep adding songs to the game for free. If you enjoy rhythm games I honestly recommend checking this game out. It's probably the cheapest rhythm game on Steam, excluding Project Outfox, and just has a really fun vibe to it.
