Fantastic game, and an okay metroidvania, will definitely be doing multiple playthroughs on the higher difficulties at a later point. For now, I'm content with my purchase; combat was great, general exploration was fun, and the story was well told, if a bit simple. The pickups that make up the bulk of the metroidvania exploration rewards were fine, health upgrades, coins to access optional areas, etc. But most of the optional scrolls were kind of useless. Magic upgrades were fine, but the tiger knee combo input moves were ones I never found use for, and were finicky to activate with a controller. Overall, still great, especially because I was more interested in the gauntlets and bosses than the rewards anyway, and they were phenomenal. If the devs will be continuing with the genre, I'd recommend a better map, perhaps indicating what's needed to progress past certain room transitions (a coin symbol, a black or white barrier symbol, etc) so that you can more easily see what you unlock with each upgrade, I don't think this is unreasonable, given the amount of walk-through floors/walls/ceilings there are to provide more hidden secrets (maybe hide these on the map, and add an upgrade to see them so we can still discover them ourselves though?)

An excellent metroidvania. Combat and Parkour are smooth – gameplay feels great. The story made me tear up, which means I was properly immersed, I think. Truly a hidden gem.

4.3★ Really easy to get into and love, it's more of a speedrunning game than a pure metroidvania as it is short and you don't need every power you can get, but that's also what makes it so unique and fun
