what do you call a game where most of the story is good, but then the ending kind of annoys you, and then the epilogue goes on way too much about the technicality of the time looping and you start questioning things and plot holes that don't really make sense that it nearly made me not recommend this game. overall, it was a good nostalgia trip, but man that epilogue gave me a headache.
I played this to completion on my phone years back, decided to buy it on steam just to support the devs cause I love this game and to potentially play it again since it has unfortunately been taken off the play store. Its essentially a visual novel and it'll be my favourite of all time. EDIT: I went through and fully read it again. It was honestly better than what I had experienced the first time, maybe because I'm older now so I can understand whats going on better? Anyways I got into the side story since I never got to play it on mobile (no money, no access). Im gonna keep it short and sweet. The side story is basically an entire sequel instead of an epilogue. This game is worth every penny, please trust me on this.
It's a good visual novel, I finished it in one sitting, including all epilogue and side story content. However, it wasn't quite as good as I expected from a game with 98% positive reviews. Visuals and Audio I'm not a fan of the voxel/3D pixel art style, but my actual complaint is the lack of animation. There are no walking animations or facial expressions at all. The background music is great, despite its semi-minimalistic usage. Gameplay Despite the art style, there's no actual gameplay. There are no puzzles or optional exploration. At most, you can talk to a few random NPCs that have no relation to the story. The keyboard movement controls are also awkward, though I got used after an hour. Story The story is great, it reminds me of top-rated anime that blend coming of age, mystery, and slice of life. However, there are a few things I didn't really like: • The main story is split into 40 mini-chapters. It should be compacted into 8 or fewer chapters to reduce interruptions. • The time travel is too overwhelming, especially in the epilogue. • I wish the story focused more on the 6 main casts, because the story drifted too far into time-travel zone late in the story and epilogue. Other This game runs fairly well on my Linux device. I experienced an audio crackling issue, which I fixed by adding "PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=50 %command%" to the launch options. On one occasion, the game had a bug where the character moved to a non-walkable area when changing location. Fortunately, changing to an older Proton version made the game move the character to the correct location. I do recommend this game, especially if you like visual novels or anime. But don't set your expectations too high, or you may be disappointed.
