BAHAMUT1-REMAKE is a nostalgic Japanese role-playing game developed by 王韋 and published by RMAsia, reintroducing an older adventure to modern audiences through a complete remake. At its core, the game tells the story of Clear, a young hero whose ambition is to challenge and ultimately defeat the legendary Dragon God Bahamut. While the premise initially appears straightforward, the narrative gradually expands into a larger fantasy tale filled with mysteries, unexpected encounters, and dangers that threaten the future of Sakchi Island. The game embraces the storytelling traditions of classic JRPGs, focusing on exploration, personal growth, and the excitement of embarking on a grand quest rather than relying on cinematic presentation or overly complex narrative structures. One of the game's most appealing aspects is its commitment to traditional role-playing mechanics while introducing enough refinements to keep the experience accessible. The battle system draws inspiration from Active Time Battle designs, creating encounters that require players to pay attention to timing and decision-making. Combat feels more energetic than standard turn-based systems, encouraging strategic use of skills and resources while maintaining the familiar rhythm that longtime RPG fans appreciate. Battles remain engaging throughout the adventure because the system rewards planning without becoming overly complicated. Character development receives considerable attention through a profession system that offers six unique classes. Each profession comes with its own strengths, abilities, and combat identity, allowing players to shape their journey according to personal preferences. Whether focusing on offense, defense, or support roles, the available options create meaningful differences in gameplay. This flexibility adds replay value, as experimenting with different professions can dramatically alter battle strategies and character progression. The class variety helps ensure that players remain invested in building their party throughout the adventure. The companion and pet mechanics provide another layer of customization. Rather than serving as simple cosmetic additions, pets contribute useful abilities and strategic benefits that can influence combat outcomes. Choosing the right companion becomes an important part of preparation, giving players additional opportunities to tailor their approach to challenges. This feature complements the class system well and strengthens the sense of building a unique adventuring team capable of overcoming increasingly difficult encounters. Exploration plays a significant role in the overall experience, supported by a dynamic day-and-night cycle that changes the atmosphere of the world. The shifting time system helps environments feel more alive and encourages players to revisit locations at different times. Alongside the main storyline, the game includes numerous side quests and optional activities that enrich the world and provide additional rewards. Arena battles offer combat-focused challenges, while casino attractions add lighter diversions between story missions. These features help create a sense of adventure beyond the central narrative and provide players with plenty of reasons to continue exploring. Visually, BAHAMUT1-REMAKE prioritizes charm and classic RPG appeal over cutting-edge graphics. The presentation successfully captures the spirit of older fantasy adventures while benefiting from modern improvements. Character sprites, environments, and interface elements all reflect a design philosophy rooted in retro role-playing traditions. The soundtrack and overall atmosphere further reinforce this identity, creating a world that feels warm, familiar, and inviting for fans of classic Japanese RPGs. Despite its strengths, the game is not without shortcomings. The most noticeable issue is the English localization, which relies heavily on machine translation. While the story remains understandable, some d…
An amazing RPG maker game with LOTS of content, ways to make yourself stronger and a nice story. The machine translation is serviceable but be warned there is literally zero information available for the game in English. I had to visit some Chinese forums to be able to find some secrets. If you're reading this and need help with something, drop me a message and I'll gladly do it.
This game is a hidden gem, it's a great find if you enjoy old school RPGs like Lunia and FF, it has a LOT of content to go though, here's a list of what I enjoy about it: -Multiple sources of power progression: In the game you can get stronger by regular leveling, but also by spending skill points with special NPCs that "Train you" to get skills and stat points, you can also level your pets to get new skills, there's also gear enchanting similar to ARPGs like Diablo where you can farm or craft super powerful gear for you and your pets, and more... -Secrets, LOTS of secrets: There is a lot of optional content you can engage with, hidden zones, items, quests, even some systems of the game are hidden behind optional stuff -Some time saving features: There are some skills you can get that can make the game less time consuming and help relieve some of the repetitive nature of the combat system, there's also game settings you can use to make fights faster to save time on the repetitive stuff -Grind feels rewarding: Fighting lots of monsters is a repetitive thing to do, but this game manages to make it feel rewarding due to the multiple layers of power progression, so it's always worth it to do "one more fight" -Little to no hand holding: The game doesn't explicitly tell you what to do and where to go all the time, it motivates you to explore and figure out the puzzles and riddles, to talk to random NPCs, re read quests, revisit lower level zones, this could be bad for some people but I love this game design where you need to find stuff out -Lots of content: There have been at least 2 different moments where I thought the game was going to end, and it turns out there's more huge maps to explore, more quests, more story, just more content, you can see my playtime and I still haven't finished it once, and I've read there's even new game plus specific content Last thing that I think you should consider, is that this game was translated to english using machine translation, so some text doesn't feel right and is a little misleading (forest chest key I will always remember you), this has never stopped me from enjoying the game, but it could be a turn off for some people Overall I'm enjoying it a lot, it's even motivating me to start developing an RPG maker game myself seeing all the cool things the dev has managed to do with this game, I totally recommend it
